Our History

Mavix Capital was founded by Scott Hamer, a season financial services executive who spent nearly nearly 20 years at  operational powerhouse Red Ventures.  Upon leaving Red Ventures, Scott set out to create a company that would leverage his experience and build upon the learnings gathered over two decades on intense growth at RV.

Scott aimed to create a company that would invest in strong, established small businesses where the owner is looking to exit or sell a majority stake in the company.  Mavix’s differentiator is its ability to immediately inject strategic and operational expertise to help businesses with a strong foundation accelerate their growth.

The core principle of the Mavix growth strategy is betting on top talent.  That includes buying businesses from strong leaders and then inserting other strong leaders to accelerate the growth of the business post acquisition. This intentional focus on recruiting, rewarding, retaining and empowering top talent to run our portfolio companies defines our strategy.

Our investments are not limited to a specific industry, a specific strategy or a specific deal size.  Our portfolio is intentionally diverse, and we generally identify the talent we want to lead our portfolio companies before we identify our target acquisitions. This approach allows us to partner with the right executive leaders and retain the operational teams on our new portfolio companies.
